Sec. 2301.554. TERMS OF LEASE: FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

(a)Except as provided by Subsection (b) or by federal law, including a federal agency rule, a vehicle lessor may not, and the vehicle lease may not, prohibit the lessee from taking the vehicle that is the subject of the lease into a specific foreign country unless the lease prohibits the lessee from taking the vehicle into any foreign country.
(b)In the interests of justice and giving deference to standard national business practices, the board may adopt a rule by which a lease may prohibit the lessee from taking the vehicle into a specific foreign country regardless of whether the lease prohibits the lessee from taking the vehicle into another foreign country.
