Sec. 62.011. PURPOSE AND AUTHORITY. A county located or bordering on the Gulf of Mexico with a beach suitable for park purposes may create a board in the manner provided in this subchapter for the purpose of improving, equipping, maintaining, financing, and operating a public park or parks, or any facilities owned by the county, or to be acquired by the county, or to be managed by the county under the terms of a written contract. The board, to be designated Beach Park Board of Trustees, has the powers and duties specified in this chapter.
