Sec. 252.001. PURPOSE. The purpose of this chapter is to promote the public health, safety, and welfare by providing for the development, establishment, and enforcement of standards for the provision of services to individuals residing in intermediate care facilities for individuals with an intellectual disability and the establishment, construction, maintenance, and operation of facilities providing this service that, in light of advancing knowledge, will promote quality in the delivery of services and treatment of residents.
