Sec. 437.218. TAX EXEMPTION.

(a)An officer or enlisted service member in the Texas military forces who complies with the service member's military duties as prescribed by this chapter is exempt from payment of a road or street tax.
(b)To obtain the exemption, a service member must file in the county tax assessor-collector's office an affidavit, sworn to before a notary public or other person authorized to administer oaths in this state, in the following form: "I, __________, do hereby solemnly swear or affirm that I am a service member in good standing of the Texas military forces of the State of Texas. Subscribed to and sworn to before me this ______ day of __________, ______ SEAL ________________________ ________________________ Notary Public in and for __________ County, Texas"
