Sec. 1505.061. ELECTION.

(a)If, before the time set for action on the ordinance authorizing the proposed project and the issuance of the bonds, a petition is filed with the municipal secretary or municipal clerk requesting an election on the approval of the project and the issuance of the bonds that is signed by at least 100 registered voters of the municipality who are listed on the most recent tax roll of the municipality as owning property, the governing body of the municipality may not approve the project or issue the bonds unless a proposition for the approval of the project and the issuance of the bonds is approved by a majority of the votes cast at an election held for that purpose.
(b)The governing body shall conduct the election in the manner provided by Chapter 1251 .
