Text of article effective on April 01, 2027 Art. 50A.004. JURY VERDICT IN FIRE INQUEST.

(a)After inspecting the location that is the subject of a fire inquest and hearing the testimony, a jury in the inquest shall deliver to the justice of the peace conducting the inquest the jury's written signed verdict, in which the jury shall find and certify:
(1)how and in what manner the fire occurred or was attempted to be set and all other circumstances attending the fire or attempted fire; and
(2)the person guilty of setting or attempting to set the fire, and the manner of the person's guilt.
(b)If the jury is unable to make a determination under Subsection (a)(1) or (2), the jury shall find and certify accordingly.
