Text
Any person who is a member of any retirement system, as defined in § 8-3701, may transfer his membership to any other retirement system upon accepting office or employment which makes it possible or mandatory for him to participate in such other retirement system. The provisions of this chapter shall apply with respect to a transfer from one retirement system to another retirement system, anything contained in one or more of the retirement systems to the contrary notwithstanding, except that such provisions shall not apply with respect to a transfer from the Tennessee teachers' retirement system to the University of Tennessee retirement system or from the University of Tennessee retirement system to the Tennessee teachers' retirement system, provided, however, the provisions of this chapte
