(a)Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the governor may designate an agency to coordinate the gathering, analysis and dissemination of state and local criminal justice agency statistics for the purpose of providing the governor, general assembly, and state and local criminal justice agencies with relevant and timely criminal justice data and information.
(b)As used in this section, "criminal justice agency" includes all state, county and municipal law enforcement agencies, the office of attorney general and reporter, the offices of the district attorneys general, the offices of municipal prosecutors, all state and local courts, all state, county and municipal correctional agencies, and all state and local agencies or entities charged by law with the responsibility of reviewing
