Any other provisions to the contrary notwithstanding, any retired member of any superseded system as defined in § 8-34-101 , or this system, who upon retirement did not elect an option, but who now desires to do so may in the manner prescribed by the board of trustees have benefits recomputed by an actuarial reevaluation in favor of such beneficiary.
