(a)(1) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the service retirement allowance payable under this chapter shall not exceed seventy-five percent (75%) of the member's average final compensation, except as provided in subdivisions (a)(2)-
(5).
(2)In the case of Class C members of the superseded Tennessee state retirement system, the service retirement allowance shall not exceed eighty percent (80%) of the member's average final compensation.
(3)In the case of Group 2 members, the service retirement allowance shall not exceed eighty percent (80%) of the member's average final compensation, unless such member is a member by virtue of employment with an employer participating in the retirement system pursuant to chapter 35, part 2, of this title.
