Text
(a)Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, any state judge, as defined in § 8-34-101 , who, prior to September 1, 1990, participated in Group 1 or 3 classifications of the retirement system, may elect, in the manner prescribed by the retirement system, to transfer membership to Group 4 of the retirement system from and after September 1, 1990. The election to transfer membership shall become effective on the date of election.
(b)Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, any attorney general and reporter who meets the requirements of § 8-34-623(b) may elect in the manner prescribed by the retirement system, to transfer membership to Group 4 of the retirement system, from and after July 1, 2005. The election to transfer membership shall become effective on the date of election.
