(a)In municipal corporations and special school districts desiring to provide such insurance coverage for employees and officials, the aldermen or other governing body of the municipal corporation or special school district shall appoint a committee of aldermen or other governing body of the municipal corporation or special school district to carry out the intent of this part.
(b)Such committee shall prepare and present for approval a contract or contracts with one (1) or more insurance companies, or other corporations which may exist under title 56, chapter 27, 28 or 29 authorized to do business in the state of Tennessee, or with one (1) or more insurance trusts which have contracted with an insurance company or companies or corporations as set out above authorized to do business in thi
