Text

(a)Each member of the county board of equalization, before entering upon the discharge of the duties of office, shall, before the county mayor or other official authorized by law to administer oaths, take and subscribe to the following oath, to be filed with the county clerk, viz.: "State of Tennessee, ______________ County. I, ____________________, member of the board of equalization of such county do hereby solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will carefully examine, compare and equalize the assessments of such county in accordance with the constitution and the laws of the state of Tennessee; and that to the best of my knowledge and ability I will faithfully, honestly and impartially perform all duties imposed upon me as a member of the board by the laws of the state of Tennessee.
