(a)This part shall be known and may be cited as the "Tennessee Insurance Producer Licensing Act of 2002." (b) This part governs the qualifications and procedures for the licensing of insurance producers. It simplifies and organizes some statutory language to improve efficiency, permits the use of new technology and reduces costs associated with issuing and renewing insurance licenses.
(c)This part does not apply to surplus lines agents licensed pursuant to the Surplus Lines Insurance Act, compiled in chapter 14 of this title, except as provided in §§ 56-6-108 and 56-6-118(b) .
