Text

(a)An insurer shall not engage in the transaction of insurance unless authorized to do so pursuant to a valid license, exempted by this chapter or otherwise exempted by the insurance laws of this state.
(b)A person who does not have a valid license as required by § 56-14-104 shall not engage in the transaction of insurance or act in this state directly as an agent for a nonadmitted insurer in the procurement of insurance, or renewals of insurance.
(c)A person who represents or aids a nonadmitted insurer in violation of this section shall be subject to the penalties set forth in § 56-14-117 . No insurance contract entered into in violation of this section shall preclude the insured from enforcing the insured's rights under the contract in accordance with the terms and provisions of the c
