Text

(a)The department of transportation shall identify locations of state and local government roads in this state where injuries to bicyclists and pedestrians are elevated in comparison to the statewide average. On or before February 15, 2024, the department of transportation, in consultation with the department of safety, local law enforcement agencies, and highway safety offices shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations regarding the development of a strategic statewide plan to increase pedestrian safety to the chairs of the transportation committee of the house of representatives and the transportation and safety committee of the senate.
