As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:

(1)"Area agency on aging and disability" means any agency that has been designated by the department to plan for and provide services to older persons and adults with disabilities within a defined geographic area;
(2)"Commission" means the commission on aging and disability created under § 52-8-102 ;
(3)"Home- and community-based long-term care" means supportive services, including, but not limited to, personal assistance, homemaker and chore services, adult day services, assistive technology, home-delivered meals, assisted transportation and mobility services, respite and hospice care, and rehabilitative care, that are provided to older persons and adults with disabilities to help them to remain independent, avoid inapprop
