Text

(a)As used in this section, "local law enforcement" means the county sheriff with jurisdiction over the location where:
(1)The service recipient permanently resides, if the service recipient is a resident of this state; and (2) The inpatient treatment facility is located, if the service recipient is not a resident of this state.
(b)If a person is ordered into involuntary commitment under part 4 or 5 of this chapter and is to be released, then the chief officer of the releasing facility shall notify, by electronic means, local law enforcement prior to such release.
