If the board of trustees of a sanitary district has entered into any contract with any municipality for the purpose of using its facilities for the treatment and disposal of sewage, the sanitary district may, by ordinance, adopt by reference, in whole or in part, the ordinances of the contracting municipality which pertain to the use and regulation of the collection, treatment, and disposal of sewage. Any subsequent changes or additions to such ordinances may thereafter, by ordinance, be adopted by reference, either in whole or in part.
