§ 34-21-13 — Programs for regulation and inspection--Preoperational environmental radiological monitoring plans.

The agency shall develop programs, with due regard for compatibility with federal programs, for regulation and inspection of by - product, source, and special nuclear materials and other sources of radiation. The agency may require persons responsible for facilities which may release radiation to the environment to monitor those facilities for radiation releases to the environment. The agency may require that any government agency, person, private business, industry, or corporation involved in uranium exploration, mining, milling, or processing activities shall develop a preoperational environmental radiological monitoring plan which must be approved by the agency prior to the commencement of any such activity.
