Upon being informed of the emergency apprehension of an individual under the provisions of this chapter, the chairman of the county board of mental illness with jurisdiction over the person shall notify the community mental health center serving the area in which the board of mental illness is located of the emergency apprehension. The chairman of the county board of mental illness may designate any qualified mental health professional to perform the evaluation required in § 27A-10-6 .
