South Carolina Statutes
§ 44-55-70 — Public notice of condition of violation in public water system.
A public water system shall, as soon as practicable, give public notice if it:
(1)is not in compliance with the State Primary Drinking Water Regulations;
(2)fails to perform required monitoring;
(3)is granted a variance for an inability to meet a maximum contaminant level requirement;
(4)is granted an exemption; or (5) fails to comply with the requirements prescribed by a variance or exemption. The board shall prescribe procedures for the public notice, including procedures for notification by publication in a newspaper of general circulation, notification to be given in the water bills of the systems, as long as a condition of violation exists, and other notification as is considered appropriate by the board.
