§ 23-51-20 — Definitions.

South Carolina·Title 23 LAW ENFORCEMENT AND PUBLIC SAFETY·Ch. 51 REDUCED CIGARETTE IGNITION PROPENSITY STANDARDS AND FIREFIGHTER PROTECTION ACT

As used in this chapter:

(A)"Agent" means a person authorized by the Department of Revenue to pay the excise tax on packages of cigarettes.
(B)"Cigarette" means:
(1)any roll for smoking, made wholly or in part of tobacco or another substance, irrespective of size or shape, either flavored or unflavored, adulterated or mixed with another ingredient. The wrapper or cover must be made of paper or another substance or material other than leaf tobacco; or (2) any roll for smoking wrapped in any substance containing tobacco which, because of its appearance, the type of tobacco used in the filler, or its packaging and labeling, is likely to be offered to, or purchased by, consumers as a cigarette as described in subitem (1).
(C)"Manufacturer" means:
(1)an entity which manufactures or produce
