Text

An oral or written report, document, statement, or other communication that is written, made, or delivered concerning the requirements or administration of this chapter or regulations promulgated pursuant to it must not be the subject of or basis for an action at law or in equity in any court of the State if the communication is between:

(1)law enforcement agencies, their agents, employees, or representatives; or (2) law enforcement agencies, their agents, employees, or representatives and the academy or the council.

HISTORY: 2006 Act No. 317, SECTION 1, eff May 30, 2006; 2008 Act No. 335, SECTION 19, eff June 16, 2008; 2014 Act No. 225 (H.3958), SECTION 1, eff June 2, 2014. Effect of Amendment The 2008 amendment, in the introductory paragraph, deleted "for slander or libel" following "equity"; rewrote item (2); and made nonsubstantive and conforming changes. 2014 Act No. 225, SECTION 1, in paragraph (2), substituted "academy or the council" for "South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy or the Law Enforcement Training Council".
