Text
The State Library Board shall appoint the director of the South Carolina State Library to serve as the administrative head of the State Library. The director:
(a)shall hold a degree from a graduate library school accredited by the American Library Association and must be eligible for a South Carolina professional librarian's certificate; and (b) shall have at least ten years of library experience in increasingly responsible professional positions, including at least four years in library administration with demonstrated success in this area. The board shall annually evaluate the performance of the director who shall serve until terminated by the board for good cause.
