§ 9-9-2. Exclusion for race, color, or previous servitude, disability, or gender prohibited.
No citizen, possessing all other qualifications which are or shall be prescribed by
            law, shall be disqualified for service as a grand or petit juror in any court of this
            state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude, disability, or
            gender; and any officer or other person, charged with any duty in the selection or
            summoning of jurors, who shall willfully exclude or fail to select or summon any citizen
            for any of the causes provided shall, on conviction thereof, be fined not exceeding
            one thousand dollars ($1,000).
