§ 9-5-10.6. Certified constables' board.

(a) There shall be created a certified constables' board that shall review each applicant and recommend him or her for training, conduct the oral examination of each applicant, and that shall serve as a resource to the department in the consideration of the practical aspects of constable practice. The board shall consist of five (5) members appointed by the governor: two (2) who shall be constables in good standing who have served for at least ten (10) years, one of whom shall be recommended by the Rhode Island Constables, Inc. and one recommended by the Rhode Island Constables Association; and
