§ 9-18-7. Sealing and delivery to court.

The deposition, once taken, shall be retained by the magistrate, officer, or commissioner until he or she delivers the deposition with his or her own hand to the court for which it is taken, or shall, together with a certificate of its having been duly taken, be by the magistrate, officer, or commissioner, sealed up and directed to such court and delivered to the clerk thereof, and remain so sealed until opened by order of the court or of some justice thereof, or by the clerk with the consent of the parties; and any person may be compelled to appear and depose as provided in this chapter within th
