§ 9-18-6. Oath of deponent — Reduction of deposition to writing.

Every person, before deposing, shall be sworn to testify the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, and after giving the deposition shall subscribe his or her name thereto, if taken in longhand in the presence of the official before whom the deposition was taken. The deposition may be reduced to writing by the official or by any person, including the deponent, under his or her direction and in his or her presence, or may be reduced to writing stenographically either by the official or by some person in his or her presence and under his or her direction, sworn by
