§ 9-1-39. Civil action for desecration.
Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, any person, organization, corporation, or
            association which is the owner of property that is injured, destroyed, written upon,
            painted, or otherwise damaged or defaced in violation of § 11-44-31 may bring an action for compensatory damages against the person or persons committing
            the offense described in § 11-44-31.
