§ 8-9-23. Missing person — Presumption of death.
If a resident of this state has disappeared and has been absent from his or her usual place of residence and his or her whereabouts has been unknown for more than four
(4)years, it shall be prima facie evidence that the person is dead so as to allow
for the administration of his or her estate.
