§ 8-5-7. Appropriations for court reporters and electronic court reporters.
The general assembly shall annually appropriate such sum as it may deem necessary
            to compensate the stenographers, court reporters, and electronic court reporters and
            similar recording personnel for their services; and the state controller is hereby
            authorized and directed to draw his or her order upon the general treasurer for the
            payment of that sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for that purpose, upon
            vouchers approved by the clerk of the superior court for the counties of Providence
            and Bristol.
