§ 40-6-28. Interim cash assistance for individuals with disabilities.

(a) Interim cash assistance payments shall be provided to individuals determined by the director, or his or her designee, to have applied for and to have been approved for medical assistance ("Medicaidâ€�) under Title XIX of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1396 et seq., and to have applied for and to be pursuing a claim for Supplemental Security Income benefits under Title XVI of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1381 et seq.

(b) Interim cash assistance payments shall continue until the recipient of the payments receives disability benefits f
