§ 36-9-22. Cessation of membership.
If any member becomes a beneficiary, dies, or receives a refund of contributions,
            he or she shall thereupon cease to be a member, subject, however, to the provisions
            of § 36-10-8 in regard to reinstatement of membership in the case of a member who has received
            a refund and who has subsequently reentered the service of the state.
