§ 36-8-5. Vacancies on board.

If, for any reason whatsoever, there shall be a vacancy in the office of an appointed member of the board the appointing authority shall appoint a successor within seventy

(70)days for the balance of the vacated term; provided, however, that all gubernatorial and general treasurer appointments made under this section after July 4, 2006 shall be subject to the advice and consent of the senate.
