§ 33-9-6. Marking and care of decedent's grave.

An executor or administrator of a solvent estate may erect a headstone, and with the permission of the probate court may erect a monument, and with like permission an executor or administrator of an insolvent estate may erect a headstone at the grave of his testator or intestate. An executor or administrator of a solvent estate may with the permission of the probate court pay to a cemetery corporation or to a town or city a reasonable sum for the perpetual care of the monument, the headstone, and the lot in which the body of the testator or intestate is buried.
