Text

Temporary permits granted by Federal agencies for interstate shipment of experimental packs of food varying from the requirements of definitions and standards of identity in Federal acts shall be effective in this Commonwealth under the conditions provided in the permits. The secretary may issue intrastate permits where they are necessary to the completion of an investigation and where the interests of consumers are safeguarded for foods not complying with definitions, standards of identity and State laws and regulations. The permits shall be for a period not to exceed one year, although the permit may be extended for a period of up to one additional year if a new standard of identity has been applied for under section 5733 (relating to rules and regulations).
