The following words and phrases when used in this part shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: "Affiliate,""affiliate of" or "person affiliated with." A person who directly or indirectly, through one or more intermediaries, controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a specified person. "Applicant."A person who, on his own behalf or on behalf of another, applies for permission to engage in an act or activity that is regulated under the provisions of this part. "Associated equipment."Equipment or a mechanical, electromechanical or electronic contrivance, component or machine used in connection with video gaming terminals or redemption terminals, including replacement parts, hardware and software.
