The department shall establish, by regulation, a program requiring the registration and reporting of inspection and testing of weighing and measuring devices which are required to be tested and inspected on an annual basis in accordance with section 4112 (relating to general testing and inspections). A food establishment shall register its weighing and measuring devices at the same time it submits its annual registration under the act of July 7, 1994 (P.L.421, No.70), known as the Food Act. A public eating and drinking place shall register its weighing and measuring devices at the same time it submits its annual license fee under the act of May 23, 1945 (P.L.926, No.369), referred to as the Public Eating and Drinking Place Law.
