The Governor may, at any time, remove any commissioner for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or misconduct in office, giving him or her in advance a copy of the charges preferred and an opportunity to be heard by a three-person panel consisting of the Insurance Commissioner, the Lieutenant Governor, and the State Treasurer on not less than ten (10) days' notice. A representative of the Attorney General's office shall attend the proceedings and on the Governor's request shall advise or assist him or her in such proceedings. Either party may procure the attendance and testimony of witnesses as provided by the Code of Civil Procedure of this state.
