Text
As used in this act: 1. “Consumer” means an individual who is also a resident of this state; 2. “Consumer report” has the meaning ascribed to it in 15 U.S.C., Section 1681a(d); 3. “Consumer reporting agency” has the meaning ascribed to it in 15 U.S.C., Section 1681a(f); 4. “Proper identification” has the meaning ascribed to it in 15 U.S.C., Section 1681h(a)(1); and 5. “Security freeze” means a notice placed in a consumer report of a consumer, at the request of the consumer and subject to certain exceptions, that prohibits the consumer reporting agency from releasing the consumer report or credit score of the consumer relating to the opening of new accounts or the extension of credit.
