Text

A.A caller may not knowingly insert false information into a caller identification system with the intent to mislead, defraud or deceive the recipient of a telephone call.
B.The provisions of this section shall not apply to: 1. Any blocking of caller identification information; 2. Any law enforcement agencies of the federal government, the state government, a county or a municipality; or 3. Any intelligence or security agencies of the federal government.
C.Any person who knowingly inserts false information with the intent to mislead, defraud or deceive the recipient of a telephone call into a caller identification system shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be imprisoned in the county jail for not more than one (1) year or fined not more than Ten Thousand Dollars
