Text
The duties of a gratuitous bailee cease: First. Upon his restoring the thing bailed to its owner; or, Second. Upon his giving reasonable notice to the owner to remove it, and the owner failing to do so within a reasonable time. But an involuntary bailee, under the first subdivision of Section 1086, cannot give such notice until the emergency that gave rise to the bailment is past.
