The legislative authority of a village may levy a tax for the purchase of a funeral coach or the construction of a vault for the dead, for the use of the village. Such resolution shall be filed with the board of elections not later than four p.m. of the ninetieth day before the day of the election. The question of levying such tax, for either or both purposes, and the amount asked therefor, shall be separately submitted to the electors of the village at a general election. Twenty days' notice of such election shall be given by posting in at least three public places in the village. The notice shall state specifically the amount to be raised, and for what purpose.
