(A)As used in this section, "building or structure" includes, but is not limited to, a modular unit, building, or structure and a movable unit, building, or structure.
(B)(1) The legislative authority of a municipal corporation, by ordinance, may dedicate and permit the use, as a minimum security jail, of any vacant or abandoned public building or structure owned by the municipal corporation that has not been dedicated to or is not then in use for any municipal or other public purpose, or any building or structure rented or leased by the municipal corporation. The legislative authority of a municipal corporation, by ordinance, also may dedicate and permit the use, as a minimum security jail, of any building or structure purchased by or constructed by or for the municipal corporation.
