If the probate judge finds that an appeal under sections6117.09to6117.24, inclusive, of the Revised Code, has been properly perfected, and that the proceedings are substantially regular, he shall fix a day not more than twenty days thereafter for the trial of the case, and shall publish at least twice in a newspaper of general circulation within the county a notice that such appeal has been made and stating the time and place of such trial. The first publication shall be at least fifteen days before such trial, and the second publication shall be at least eight days before such trial. At the time so fixed the parties shall offer their evidence to the court upon the matters appealed from.
