(A)Except as provided in division (B) of this section, whoever violates division (C) of section5537.16of the Revised Code is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on each subsequent offense such person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.

(B)(1) Whoever violates division (C) of section5537.16of the Revised Code when the violation is a civil violation for failure to comply with toll collection rules is subject to a fee or charge established by the commission by rule.

(2)Whoever violates division (C) of section5537.16of the Revised Code in regard to allowable axle or vehicle loads shall be fined in accordance with division (A) of section5577.99of the Revised Code.
