Except for service credit transferred under section5505.41of the Revised Code, a member of the state highway patrol retirement system shall, in computing years of active service in the highway patrol under sections5505.16,5505.17, and5505.18of the Revised Code, be given full credit for time served as a police officer or firefighter covered under Chapter 742. and former Chapters 521. and 541. of the Revised Code, provided such member pays to the state highway patrol retirement system the amount received by the member under division (I) of former section521.11, division (I) of former section741.18, division (I) of former section741.49, or division (G) of section742.37of the Revised Code, with compound interest thereon at a rate to be determined by the state highway patrol retirement board fr
