Text

Upon the death of a resident or former resident of any institution under the jurisdiction of the department of developmental disabilities, or upon the death of a person responsible under section5121.06of the Revised Code for the support of a resident, the department may waive the presentation of any claim for support against the estate of such decedent, when in its judgment an otherwise dependent person will be directly benefited by the estate. Claims against an estate for support of a resident are subject to section5815.28and Chapter 2117. of the Revised Code, and shall be treated, and may be barred, the same as the claims of other creditors of the estate, pursuant to that section or chapter.
