§ 404-S*3 — Distinctive "drive out diabetes" license plates

* § 404-s. Distinctive "drive out diabetes" license plates. 1. Any\nperson residing in this state shall upon request be issued a distinctive\n"drive out diabetes" license plate in support of diabetes research\nbearing the phrase "drive out diabetes". Application for said license\nplate shall be filed with the commissioner in such form and detail as\nthe commissioner shall prescribe.\n 2. A distinctive plate issued pursuant to this section shall be issued\nin the same manner as other number plates upon the payment of the\nregular registration fee prescribed by section four hundred one of this\narticle provided, however, that an additional annual service charge of\ntwenty-five dollars shall be charged for such plates. All monies\nreceived as the annual service charge under this section shall be\ndeposited to the credit of the New York state "drive out diabetes\nresearch and education fund" established pursuant to section\nninety-five-b of the state finance law and shall be used for research\nand education programs undertaken pursuant to article twenty-seven-H of\nthe public health law as redesignated by chapter five hundred\neighty-four of the laws of nineteen hundred eighty-eight. Provided,\nhowever that one year after the effective date of this section funds in\nthe amount of seven thousand five hundred dollars, or so much thereof as\nmay be available, shall be allocated to the department to offset costs\nassociated with the production of such license plates.\n * NB There are 4 § 404-s's\n
